Terms of service

Version 1.4 · effective October 24, 2026

These are the rules we work by. They are the same for every client, and you accept them before we start.

This is a translation for clients who prefer English. If there is any difference, the Spanish version prevails.

1. Who we are

MAAT House is a brand operated by Héctor Guillermo Vargas Nieto, in Mexico City, Mexico. Contact: hola@maathouse.com. In these terms, "we" means MAAT House and "you" means the client.

2. How they are accepted

Before we start, we send you your proposal (service, option and prices) and a link to these terms. You accept them by ticking the "I agree to the Terms of service" box when you add your card to pay: there is nothing to sign. You can also accept them by replying on WhatsApp or by email: "I accept the MAAT House Terms of service v1.4". The box or that message, with your name, email or number and the date, counts as your acceptance of these terms and your proposal.

3. The two options

What a business website is: the standard prices of both options are for a website with up to 5 sections (for example: home, services, about, gallery and contact), mobile-ready, with a WhatsApp button, contact form, map and social links. They do not include online stores, marketplaces, bookings, online payments, password-protected areas, CRM integration or custom systems: those are custom projects or extras (section 11), each with its own written quote.

• Own it: you pay the full build and the website is yours from day one. Domain and hosting are in your name and you pay the provider directly. Includes up to 2 rounds of changes before launch: once you approve it, we publish it and our work ends there. After launch we don't make further changes; since you have all the access, anyone you choose can edit it.
• Rent it: you pay a reduced build fee and a monthly fee. The website, its design, its code, the domain and the hosting are owned by MAAT House; you receive a license to use it while your payments are up to date.

Your brand, your logo and the content you give us (photos, text, business information) are always yours; you authorize us to use them on your website while the service lasts.

4. Prices and payments

• Prices are those in your proposal and those published in Services, in US dollars plus applicable taxes.
• Each service is hired and billed separately: the price of one does not include the others. What each one includes is in Annex A.
• The build and any other one-time payments are paid before we start, by card or bank transfer.
• Monthly fees for any service are charged automatically in advance to your credit card every month, starting the month the service begins (for Rent it, the month your website goes live). Without a credit card on file we can't provide monthly services.
• We issue an invoice for every payment. The monthly fee may be adjusted once a year for inflation, with 30 days' notice.

5. Minimum term (Rent it)

Rent it has a minimum term of 6 months from the day your website goes live. After that it continues month to month and you can cancel it like any other service (section 10).

6. What the monthly fee includes

The Rent it monthly fee includes hosting, domain, security certificate, backups, monitoring that your website is online, up to 2 small changes a month of up to 30 minutes each, and a monthly report. Unused changes don't roll over. Anything beyond that (new sections, redesigns, new features, creating photos or copy) is quoted separately. The details of each service are in Annex A.

7. Response times

• Requests only through our official channels: MAAT House WhatsApp or hola@maathouse.com.
• We reply within 24 business hours and publish small changes within 2 business days.
• Business days: Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 18:00 (Mexico City time), excluding official holidays.

8. Late payment

If the monthly charge to your card doesn't go through, we'll let you know. After 10 calendar days late we may suspend your website until you're up to date. After 60 days we may end the service, and the overdue fees remain owed, plus, if it's within the minimum term, the fees left to complete it.

9. Buyout (Rent it)

You can keep your website whenever you want, even within the minimum term, by paying its buyout price (plus applicable taxes) while your payments are up to date. The price goes down with every monthly fee you pay, and you know it from day one:

Buyout price = USD 849 − what you paid for the build − USD 17 for every monthly fee paid. It's never less than USD 212. With standard prices: USD 570 at launch, USD 468 at month 6, USD 366 at month 12, and USD 212 from month 22.

When you pay, we transfer the domain to you, hand over the code and files, and give you up to 2 hours of help moving the website to your own hosting. The buyout ends the service with no other penalty.

10. Cancellations

You can cancel one, several or all of your services whenever you want by letting us know through our official channels. The service continues until your current month ends; that day we switch it off and no further charges are made to your card. What you've already paid is not refunded. If we decide to end a service, we'll give you 30 days' notice.

For Rent it, within the minimum term the fees left to complete the 6 months are owed. When it ends, the website is taken down and the domain stays with MAAT House. If you ask within the next 30 days, we'll give you a copy of your own content.

11. Extras

Anything not included in your service (CRM integration, a private client portal, bookings, online payments, a store, new sections or features) is an extra. Each extra is quoted in writing before we start, with price, scope and timeline, and is only charged if you accept it. It may have a one-time fee and an increase to the monthly fee. Third-party licenses or fees (for example, the CRM license or the payment gateway fee) are contracted and paid by you directly. In Rent it, extras are also owned by MAAT House and add to your buyout price as stated in their quote.

12. Your part

Give us truthful information and material you have the rights to, don't use the website for anything illegal, request changes through the official channels and pay on time. You are responsible to third parties for the content you give us.

13. Confidentiality and personal data

We keep your business information confidential during the service and for 2 years after. If your website receives data from your customers (for example, through a form), you are responsible for that data and we only process it on your behalf; your website must have its own privacy notice. How we handle your data is explained in our privacy notice.

14. Limitation of liability

We don't guarantee a number of visits, sales or customers. We are not liable for failures of third-party providers (hosting, domains, WhatsApp, Google, Meta) or for force majeure. Our maximum liability to you does not exceed what you paid us in the 3 months before the issue.

15. Team and portfolio

We may work with collaborators to do the work; you always deal with MAAT House. We may show your website in our portfolio and social media as an example of our work, without confidential information; if you'd rather we didn't, let us know when you accept.

16. Changes to these terms and governing law

If we change these terms we'll publish a new version with its date; your service stays on the version you accepted until you accept the new one. These terms are governed by the laws of Mexico City, and any dispute will be resolved before its courts.

Annex A. What each service includes

Each service is hired and billed separately: the price of one does not include the others. Prices are in Services.

Website + basic SEO

• The business website in section 3: up to 5 sections, mobile-ready, with a WhatsApp button, contact form, map and social links.
• Basic SEO: titles and descriptions so Google understands what you sell and where, a fast website on phones, and your Google Maps listing ready with your website, hours and phone (Google asks you to verify it).
• Before we start we send you your website design in less than 24 hours, free of charge.

Own it: domain and hosting in your name, paid by you directly to the provider; up to 2 rounds of changes before launch (after launch we don't make further changes); all access and files.

Rent it: hosting, domain and security certificate paid by us, 2 small changes a month of up to 30 minutes each, backups, monitoring and a monthly report of visits and messages.

CRM

• Messages from your website go straight into your CRM.
• Your sales pipeline (every customer in their stage, from "new" to "bought"), customer scoring and follow-up reminders.
• Automatic replies and labels in your WhatsApp Business.
• Every week we review your pipeline and tell you who to contact.
• Basic in a Google Sheet, or in HubSpot or Salesforce: any license is contracted and paid by you directly; our setup costs the same.

Sales analytics

• A dashboard with your numbers up to date: how many people wrote to you, how many bought and how much you sold.
• Where your customers come from (your website, Google, social media or referrals) and which ones buy the most.
• Every month, a WhatsApp summary with what matters and what we recommend you do.
• Requires a CRM: the one we set up for you or the one you already have in HubSpot or Salesforce.

Google Ads

• You decide how much you invest each month and we never spend more than your limit; we decide how it's split (campaigns, keywords, areas and schedules).
• It can be hired on its own, without other services. Ads lead to a website: if you already have one, we use it, as long as you give us access to install Google's tracking; if you don't, you need one first (Own it or Rent it). If your website doesn't help you sell, we'll tell you before you invest.
• The ad account is yours and you pay Google directly with your card; that money never goes through us. Our price depends on how much you invest each month.
• We set up your account and track which ad brings you messages or calls; up to 3 active campaigns, weekly adjustments and a monthly report of how much you invested, how many customers came in and what each one cost.
• Suggested investment: from USD 200 a month. The first month is a learning period: results settle in 4 to 6 weeks.
• Does not include creating new photos, videos or landing pages for the campaigns.

Content and custom projects

Posts, designs and videos for your social media; online stores, marketplaces, bookings, online payments, private portals or systems for your business. They are quoted in writing, with price, scope and timeline, before we start (section 11).

No service includes new sections, redesigns, new features, or creating photos or copy; those are quoted separately. Unused changes don't roll over.
